Summer Ventures Program applications are now open at
https://www.ncssm.edu/summerventures Applications are due January 15, 2108. RAP applications will be accepted through February 2 for this rewarding hands-on residential program in scientific research for high school junior and seniors.
From June 17 to July 13, RAP students will live on campus and work under the direction of top research scientists at N.C. A&T to produce an independent research project. Students will be compensated financially! For more information contact: Kishaa James 336-285-4798 or [email protected] Applications are only on line http://bit/ly/CAESrap I am pleased to announce that Captain Tim Light, the Admissions Officer responsible for North Carolina, will be traveling from West Point to conduct AIM Briefings and meet with prospective West Point candidates in September 2017.
The one-hour AIM Briefings focus on the admissions process and standards as well as offer an overview of cadet life...especially on academics, fitness, and military training. Captain Light and West Point Field Force Representatives from North Carolina will be available to meet individually with prospective candidates and their parents. You may view the dates, times, and locations for the four AIM Briefings in Raleigh (September 11th); Fayetteville (September 12th); Charlotte (September 13th); and the Asheville-area (September 14th) by clicking on the below link (then scroll down). Hospice of Randolph County is excited to announce our new teen bereavement camp, SOAR - the adventure awaits. This camp will take place at Victory Junction on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
SOAR is a one-day camp experience designed to assist teens, grades 7-12, in coping with the death of a loved one. Any teen who has experienced the loss of a loved one is invited to attend. Participants will learn about ways to cope with grief and loss while making new connections and experiencing the excitement of Victory Junction. Attached you will find the SOAR application. There is a $10 registration fee for camp to cover the cost of supplies, refreshments, and activities. Please note that the deadline for applications isSeptember 15, 2017. You may submit the application and registration fee in person or by mail, email or fax. Also, you can access the application and submit your registration fee online atwww.hospiceofrandolph.org. Scholarships are available for teens who have special financial circumstances. Contact our office to discuss financial assistance if you have a special need. Any teen who has experienced the loss of a loved one is encouraged to attend SOAR. Please share this information with teachers, administrators, counselors, social workers, volunteers, and others you know who may benefit from the SOAR camp experience.
